The increasing complexity of the cyber threat landscape calls for a stronger, more coordinated approach to cybersecurity. Encouraged by the achievements of earlier cyber resilience initiatives, Bangladesh remains committed to enhancing cyber preparedness, incident response capabilities, and organizational resilience across Corporate Bodies, Private Organizations, MFIs, NBFIs, Sectoral Industries, and Public Networks.
The Software Testing Laboratory (STL), the first and only software testing laboratory accredited under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB), Ministry of Industries, is mandated to conduct software testing, independent cybersecurity assessments, and coordinate cybersecurity testing programs and initiatives. In line with this mandate, STL
strives to enhance national cybersecurity readiness and incident response capabilities through the organization of cyber incident response exercises and drills.
This cyber incident drill serves as an awareness and compliance initiative for
Corporate Bodies, Private Organizations, MFIs, NBFIs, Sectoral Industries, and Public Networks, supporting the continuous advancement of cybersecurity maturity across all sectors. The Cyber Incident Drill and Exercise will utilize a series of realistic cyber incident scenarios to facilitate participating sectoral leads and organizations in practicing and strengthening their capabilities in incident detection, handling, investigation, analysis,
containment, remediation, escalation, coordination, and reporting. Through these exercises, participating organizations will gain valuable experience in responding to cyber threats and improving their overall cyber resilience.
Building upon the success of the 1st Agile Cyber Drill 2025, the 2nd Agile Cyber Drill 2026 continues the strategic initiative to strengthen cybersecurity resilience and enhance the protection of organizations across Bangladesh. The program serves as a cybersecurity awareness and preparedness exercise for Corporate Bodies, Private Organizations, MFIs, NBFIs, Sectoral Industries, and Public Networks, supporting the continuous development of cybersecurity capabilities toward higher levels of maturity. The Cyber Incident Drill and Exercise will utilize realistic and evolving cyber threat scenarios to enable participating organizations to practice and improve their incident detection, analysis, containment, investigation, remediation, escalation, communication, and reporting processes. The exercise is designed to strengthen coordination among organizations, enhance cyber incident response readiness, and promote information sharing among stakeholders. The 2nd Agile Cyber Drill 2026 will be conducted as a remote, real-time exercise, allowing participants to engage directly from their respective workplaces. The exercise will be facilitated by the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited Software Testing Laboratory (STL) in collaboration with the Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) and relevant sectoral leads. Participants will be presented with carefully designed cyber incident scenarios and will be required to assess, analyze, and respond to the situations in accordance with established incident response procedures. Throughout the exercise, participants will communicate and exchange information through the designated platforms and communication channels specified in the Event Information section. The exercise aims to evaluate organizational preparedness, improve response coordination, identify capability gaps, and contribute to the overall enhancement of cybersecurity resilience across Bangladesh’s corporate and critical sectors.
